ASHLAND, Ky. — The bridges crossing the Ohio River into Ashland, Kentucky will have lane closures over the next two weeks to undergo routine inspections.
Starting Monday, the 12th Street bridge, the green one, will be reduced to one lane between 9 a.m.-4 p.m. through Friday for the inspections.
Starting Monday, Sept. 23, the blue 13th Street bridge will have daily lane closures on the three-lane structure through Friday, Sept. 27 and drivers should expect possible delays.
The bridges carry traffic across the river from U.S. 52 in Ohio to U.S. 23 and U.S. 60 in Kentucky. The bridge serves an average of 14,000 vehicles per day. Motorists should prepare for lengthy delays or seek alternate routes.
The bridge inspections are routine and are part of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s annual bridge maintenance and preservation program.
