Lady Flyers drop tough volleyball game with HSJ

The battle of St. Joseph was just that, a battle.
The Ironton St. Joseph Lady Flyers and Huntington St. Joseph Lady Fighting Irish collided on Saturday with the visiting Irish rallying for a five-set volleyball win on Saturday.
The Lady Flyers were up 2-1 before the Lady Fighting Irish rallied to win, 23-25, 25-13, 25-21, 21-25 and 6-15 in the tiebreaker.
The Lady Flyers got strong efforts from the up and down the roster. Here are the top statistic leaders:
Emma Whaley one ace and five digs; Jade DeGiorgio one ace and 13 digs; Chloe Sheridan one ace, 17 assists and four digs; Faith Mahlmeister three aces, five kills and three digs; Gracie Damron four aces, eight kills, two digs and three block assists: Bella Whaley four digs and three block assists; Emilee Blankenship one dig; and Jadyn Green turned in a big game with eight aces, eight kills, one assist and nine digs.
The Lady Flyers visit New Boston at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
