RUSSELL — Officials at Bon Secours Kentucky Health System have announced that imaging services at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital (OLBH), the OLBH Ashland Imagining Center, 1816 Carter Avenue, Ashland, and the OLBH Ironton Imaging Center, 1005 East Ring Road, Ironton, have been awarded three-year accreditations as the result of recent surveys by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
The ACR awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field. The accreditation program evaluates qualifications of personnel, equipment performance, effectiveness of quality control measures, and quality of clinical images. OLBH performed well by each measure and received the three year accreditation.
“I’m proud of our staff at the hospital and at our imaging centers in both Ashland and Ironton for the work that earned these accreditations,” said OLBH director of Radiology Terri Hannon. Founded in 1923, the ACR is a national professional organization representing more than 38,000 radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians and medical physicists. The ACR serves patients and society by empowering members to advance the practice, science and professions of radiological care.
