Marcia Jean Music
Sept. 12, 1953 – March 31, 2019
Marcia Jean Music, 65, of Coal Grove, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2019, at the Best Care Nursing Center in Wheelersburg.
The Ashland, Kentucky, native was born Sept. 12, 1953, a daughter of Thelma Chaffin (Patrick Rolle) Murphy and the late Ronald Wheeler.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harold Music, who passed away Jan. 25, 2017.
Mrs. Music was a graduate of Russell High School and was an employee of Ashland Oil in the accounting department.
In addition to her mother and stepfather, she is survived by two sons, John (Audra) Litteral and Brian Music; two daughters, Ronda (Lee) Morrison and Debra (Forrest) Music; six grandchildren, Jonathan Litteral, Chase Music, Kristin Lemon, Jimmy Lemon, Erica Mullins and Ryan Music; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Rhonda (Jim) Belcher and Bobbi Jo (Bo) Carrol and two brothers, Doug Wheeler and Luke Stoup.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Rev. Duane Knittel officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be today from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.

John E. Collins
Jan. 7, 1944 – Monday, April 1, 2019
John E. Collins, 75, of Ironton, passed away Monday, April 1, 2019, at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
The Ironton native was born Jan. 7, 1944, a son of the late Ermil G. and Margie Browning Collins.
John was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and Ohio University Southern.
He was a former employee for the City of Ironton in the filtration plant, retiring in 1998 after 25 years and was a U.S. Air Force veteran, serving during the Vietnam era. He was of the Baptist faith. He traveled to many Marshall basketball games in the 80s, loved to mow grass, his flowers and gardening. He also loved all sports and was a very giving person, loved cats and dogs and family. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 8850 in Ironton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Rosemary Webb, Juanita Stanley, and Barbara Sue Byrne; a brother, Ermil Bob Collins; a brother-in-law, Howard Buck Robinson and his loving cats and companions, Mr. Whiskers and Rascal.
He is survived by two sisters, Phyllis Spillman of Lexington, Kentucky and Connie Robinson of Ironton and many special nieces, nephews and their children.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery and visitation will be Saturday from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Norma June Delawder
Norma June Delawder, 90, of Ironton, left her family to be with her heavenly father on April 2, 2019, at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Delbert Eugene (Gene) Delawder.
They raised three children, Robert (Glenda) Delawder, James Michael (Geraldinea) Delawder and Sharon (Fred) Kleinman.
She is survived by six grandsons, Chris, Britt, Ed and Matt Delawder and Buddy and Travis Kleinman; and seven great grandchildren, Bela and Payne Delawder, Kyle, Conner, Callie June, Trevor and Tanner Kleinman.
June was a very active member of Jeffersonville Missionary Baptist Church where she participated in various activities including teaching crafts to the children. June graduated with the Ironton High School Class of 1949 and always enjoyed going to the monthly 49ers dinners with her classmates.
After the children were largely raised, June worked outside the home, first in a doughnut shop, then later in the Ironton Junior High School cafeteria. She also became certified in cosmetology and maintained the position of the family barber/beautician. Later, she taught crafts to the senior citizen groups.
Anyone who knew June knew that she was a very happy person. She could be heard humming a happy tune everywhere she went throughout her life. You could tell she loved the Lord from her walk in life. She will be sorely missed by her family and her best friend, (dog) Rascal.
The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and visits, especially her Jeffersonville Church family and the Hospice of Ashland staff.
Visitation will be Friday from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St., Ironton with the funeral service starting at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Roger Pierce officiating, and burial at Woodland Cemetery immediately thereafter.

Samuel Pratt
Samuel Millard Pratt Sr., 77, of South Point, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lou Pratt.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday by Pastor Ronnie Tyree at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home in Chesapeake.
Visitation will be held prior to service from 10 – 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park in Huntington, West Virginia.

Rev. Willard Blankenship
Rev. Willard Blankenship died on Wednesday April 3, 2019, at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Vernon Cemetery with Rev. Blevins and Rev. Jiles officiating.
