4 Rock Hill pitchers combine for 10-0 perfect game win in season opener

AID — Now that’s teamwork.
The Rock Hill Redmen used four pitchers to throw a perfect game as they opened the season with a 10-0 five-inning run rule over the Symmes Valley Vikings on Saturday in the season opener.
Logan Hankins, Landon Smith, Nick Blankenship and Isaiah McFann combined to strike out 12 of the 15 batters.
Smith threw just nine pitches as he struck out all three batters he faced in the third. McFann fanned three batters on 10 pitches.
The Redmen got all the runs they needed in the first inning by taking a 3-0 lead.
Jake Blagg reached on an error, took third on a double by Blankenship and scored on a wild pitch. Hankins walked and Kadin France was safe on an error for a run. Smith grounded out to drive in a run.
The lead was 7-0 after the second inning.
Brayden Friend singled, stole second, moved up on a ground out, Blankenship walked and Hankins had an RBI single. Kaleb Kidd singled for a run and France had a two-run single.
The final three runs scored in the fourth.
France singled and Seth Nichols had an RBI hit. Nichols stole second and Jordan Griffith had an RBI single. After a ground out, Griffith scored when Blagg reached on an error.
France and Friend each went 2-3 as Rock Hill had 10 hits.
