Party Place in Ironton will host event each month
Martin Jackson, the owner of the Party Place, said he wants to provide a monthly get together for veterans.
A meet and greet took place at the venue, featuring food and guest speakers.
“We do this every month,” Jackson said. “It’s just a time for veterans to let loose, tell stories and have fun.”
About 15 came out for this week’s event, and Jackson said the venue can accommodate up to 60.
He said they will host the event once a month and that the date and time can be found on the venue’s Facebook page.
Speakers for the event included Mark Kelly, a representative from Pathways, who sponsored this month’s event; Dr. Velma Layne III, a veterans education advocate; and Charles “Lee” Blevins, of the VA homeless vets resource center.
The Party Place is located at 204. Vernon St. and can be contacted at 740-470-1428.
