A precautionary boil-water advisory is in effect for residences and businesses that were out of water in the south end of Ironton today.
Ironton water department workers repaired a leak at the corner of Sixth and Ashtabula streets. The leak occurred Wednesday, but the department had to order parts for it, Mayor Rich Blankenship said.
Water was off in some places during the repair.
“It was an old line where they had made a repair to it years ago and didn’t
fix it correctly,” Blankenship said, adding that there were two different sizes of lines used.
