Free showing of Recovery Boys at OUS

Netflix documentary follows regional recovering addicts
Ohio University Southern is hosting a free showing of Recovery Boys, a Netflix Original Documentary. The film will be shown at 4 p.m. today. The free showing is sponsored by the Ohio Southern Student Resource Commons and the Council on Diversity and Inclusion. This event is free and open to the campus and community.
The movie shows how four men deal with the emotions of recovering from opioid addiction during a 18-month-long treatment program called Jacob’s Ladder in West Virginia. The men have dealt with a multitude of issues from their emotions to losing their children to living a sober life.
The program, set on a farm, takes an unusual approach to treatment with meditation and yoga among other things.
The movie will be shown in the Bowman Auditorium in the Collins Center, located at 1804 Liberty Avenue in Ironton. Recovery Boys is produced and directed by the Academy Award nominated director of HEROIN(E), Elaine McMillion Sheldon.
