ASHTON, W.Va. — The Green Bobcats ran. And ran and ran and ran.
Green ran 47 times for 559 yards as they cruised past the Hannan Wildcats 86-14 on Friday.
The Bobcats had three runners eclipse the 100-yard rushing mark as Mackie Kingery ran five times for 133 yards and two touchdowns, Lonnie Smith carried 12 times for 126 yards and two scores, and Alex Smith had six attempts for 125 yards and two TDs.
The Bobcats (2-0) did not attempt a pass.
Green settled the outcome in the first quarter with a 40-point outburst.
Lonnie Smith ran 29 yards for the score and added the conversion. Kingery then went 29 yards with Smith getting his second conversion ant it was 16-0 at the 6:414 mark.
Ricky Nash — who had 41 yards on eight carries — scored on a 1-yard run and later on a 7-yard carry while Trevor Darnell had a 42-yard interception return for a touchdown sandwiched between Nash’s scores.
Alec Smith had touchdown runs of 33 and 26 yards in the second quarter and it was 54-0 at the half.
Alex Smith’s 5-yard run and Darnell’s conversion carry put the lead at 62-0.
Hannan then scored on a 43-yard pass from Matthew Qualls to Dominic Burris at the 7:58 mark and it was 62-6.
Kingery then got loose on a 54-yard run and Alec Smith had the conversion run and it was 70-6.
Hannan’s Jordan Fitzwater raced 17 yards for a touchdown and Andrew Gillespie’s conversion reception gave the Wildcats their 14 points.
Lonnie Smith had a 35-yard scoring run and Gage Sampson returned an interception 53 yards for a touchdown for Green. Darnell ran for the conversion on both scores to make it 86-14 with 5:04 left in the third quarter.
Green hosts West Union next Friday.
