Orville Collins

March 31, 1940 — June 24, 2018

Orville Collins, 78, of Ironton, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, June 24, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Ironton. He was born March 31, 1940, in Lawrence County, son of the late Alva and Lottie Herman Collins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Faulkner Collins; a son, Danny Collins; and eight brothers and sister.
Orville loved and cared for his family deeply. He attended many churches, enjoyed music and working for the Lord. He ministered to many nursing homes with his music.
Orville is survived by his six children, Ray (Sheila) Collins, of South Point, Rick Collins, of Rock Hill, Terry (Sherry) Collins, of South Point, Tammy Riggs, of Ironton, Debra (Jerry) Burton, of Ironton, and Jeffrey Collins, of South Point; a sister, Shirley White; a brother, Carl Collins; daughter-in-law, Tammy Collins; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Mary McGlone.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. Burial will follow at Zoar Cemetery, Coal Grove. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service Thursday at the funeral home. Condolence to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
