Jones set to speak Tuesday in Portsmouth

PORTSMOUTH — Former Cincinnati Reds’ outfielder Tracy Jones is still on the move.
Jones will be the guest speaker on Tuesday at the Portsmouth Chapter of the Cincinnati Reds’ Museum Hall of Fame meeting.
The chapter will meet from 6-8 p.m. at Buffalo Wild Wings Bar & Grill at 1611 Chillicothe Street.
The dinner meeting is $10 for any Reds HOF members and $25 for non-members.
Fees include one autograph per person. Additional autographs are $10 each.
The chapter will also be available for registering new members where you will be able to pick up your bobble heads immediately.

An auction for a signed ROMLB by Reds all-time saves leader “The Baby Faced Assassin,” Danny Graves.
Also, a silent auction item for is a signed Pete Rose frame which was painted by Cincinnati artist Chris Felix.

Fees go directly to the Portsmouth Chapter

Jones was a fan favorite during his tenure with the Reds.
On June 7, 1982, Jones was drafted by the New York Mets in the 4th round of the amateur draft, but did not sign.
On January 11, 1983, Jones was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the first round of the amateur draft.
Jones went on to make his Major League Debut with the Cincinnati Reds on April 7, 1986 against the Philadelphia Phillies and played for the Reds until 1988 when he was traded to the Montreal Expos.
Jones is also well known for his longtime tenure as a radio host on 700WLW, the Reds Flagship station, where he still does the daily feature “Brennaman and Jones on Baseball.”
