The Ohio University Southern Band will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. Friday at the Lake Vesuvius Amphitheater.
The concert will feature musical selections from television shows and movies, along with patriotic marches and dance from various cultures.
The Lake Vesuvius Amphitheater is located 6.5 miles north of Ironton on County Road 29, one mile east of State Route 93, and just past the entrance to the recreation area above the historic iron furnace on the right.
The concert is sponsored by the Southern Wayne Advocacy Council to help promote the southern Wayne National Forest. Those interested in attending are also encouraged to bring a lawn chair.
The OUS Community Band is a small concert band consisting of all different kinds of people from throughout the Tri-State, and is also always seeking new members.
