Robert Webb

March 4, 1943 — May 31, 2018

Robert Lee Webb, 75, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Harbor Healthcare, Ironton. He was born March 4, 1943, in Lawrence County, a son of the late Paul William and Myrta Dennon Webb.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Baldwin and Paul E. Webb; and two sisters, Ann Saul and Lois Bailey.
Robert worked as a laborer with Union #83 Hall, Portsmouth.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Malone, of Ironton; two sisters, Martha Johnson, of South Point, and Bessie Hankins, of Coal Grove; a brother, James (Carol) Webb, of Franklin Furnace; two grandchildren, Amanda (George) Forton, of Ironton, and James (Amanda) Malone, of Waterloo; and four great-grandchildren, Hallie and Adam Forton and Hunter and Kaycee Malone.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Woodland Cemetary, Ironton, with pastor Duane Knittel officiating. Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.

 

Carl Morris Jr.

Carl Edward Morris Jr., 73, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018, after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Rev. Carl and Hazel (Reistz) Morris.
Carl is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jane Jenkins Morris, the daughter of the late Wade and Rachel Jenkins.
Carl graduated from Ironton High School with the Class of 1962. He furthered his education with a B.S. Degree from Ohio University and a Master’s Degree from Marshall University. He was a teacher at the South Point School district for 30 years before retiring. Carl was a member of the Lawrence Lodge #198, where he was just awarded his 50-year Masonic pin. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Cincinnati.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Masonic and Scottish Rites will be at 12:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
