PROCTORVILLE — Kyle Rankin and Gavin Hunt played tag team.
Hunt pitched a three-hitter and Rankin drove in five runs as the Fairland Dragons beat the Gallipolis Blue Devils 6-1 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Friday.
Hunt struck out one and walked four in going the distance. Rankin was 2-3 at the plate with a grand slam home run.
“We played another complete game. Kyle Rankin and Gavin Hunt stole the show. Gavin pitched a three-hit gem and Kyle had five RBIs, four of them off a grand slam in the fourth,” said Fairland coach Alex Beelen. “I’m very proud of the way we’re playing.”
Rankin hit his grand slam in the fourth as Fairland snapped a scoreless tie.
Tucker Adkins also went 2-3 for the Dragons.
The teams play at Gallipolis on Monday.
