Ann Murray Miller

Ann Murray Miller died peacefully at her home in Fairfax County, Va., on Nov. 11, 2010. She was born to Winifred and Ralph Murray on Oct. 21, 1925, in Ironton. She graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1943, and earned a degree from Ohio University in 1947. Ann married William Miller at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church on Sept. 25, 1948. She was a dedicated wife to Bill, a Foreign Service Officer who preceded her in death. Together they raised five children: William (who also preceded her in death), Mary Ellen, Peter, Patrick and Kate. They resided in Japan, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Pakistan. Known for her great faith, Ann had a keen sense of adventure and ability to cope with challenges in life. She was equally known for her hopefulness, wisdom, wit and devotion to family. Predeceased by her siblings: Lucile Durkin, Alice Stuntebeck, Kathryn Murray, Jeanette Huddleston and Ralph Murray, Mrs. Miller is survived by four children, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many devoted nieces and nephews. Her nephew Vincent Murray Stuntebeck is an Ironton resident. Following a Mass of Resurrection, Ann now rests in eternity beside her beloved husband and eldest son at Rock Creek Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
