Drugs make up bulk of indicments
One student who allegedly made threats against her school earlier this year was recently indicted by a Lawrence County grand jury since she is 18 years old.
Breianna N. May, 18, of 14585 State Route 141, Willow Wood, was indicted for inducing panic, a second-degree felony, and making terroristic threats, a third-degree felony.
As for the inducing panic charge, according to the indictment, on or about Feb. 21, 2018, in Lawrence County, May did, cause the evacuation of any public place, or otherwise cause serious public inconvenience or alarm by initiating or circulating a report or warning of an alleged or impending fire, explosion, crime, or other catastrophe, knowing that such report or warning was false and the public place involved was a school.
Regarding the charge of making terroristic threats, according to the indictment, on or about Feb. 21, 2018, in Lawrence County, May did, threaten to commit or threaten to cause to be committed a school shooting at Symmes Valley High School, and made the threat with purpose to intimidate or coerce a civilian population.
The threats allegedly were made on a popular social media website, and search warrants were obtained by county sheriff’s deputies for the site and cell phones. Through these subpoenas, the IP address was obtained, which led to May.
She later admitted to posting the content in an interview with detectives.
