Margaret Harlacher

Margaret Elizabeth Harlacher, 101, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018, at Yalobusha County Nursing Home, Water Valley, Mississippi.
Born in Dewart, Pennsylvania to the late Henry High and Margaret Helen Springer Nicely, Mrs. Harlacher was a retired homemaker and telephone operator. She formerly lived in Ironton and moved to Oxford, Mississippi to live with her daughter, Helen Milhouse. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Ironton, for over 60 years. Mrs. Harlacher enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, reading and traveling with her husband before his death in 1992.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Alton Harlacher; and daughter, Jean Gerken.
Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Helen Milhouse, of Oxford, Mississippi, Linda Harlacher, of Callaway, Florida, and Susan Jeter, of Chillicothe; four grandchildren, Robert Weaver, of Callaway, Florida, Dean Gerken, of Bridgeport, West Virginia, Ryan Jeter, of Chillicothe, and Amy McNaughton, of Waverly; and three great-grandchildren, Jessica Weaver, Ally McNaughton and Taryn McNaughton.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point, with the Rev. Carson Hunt officiating. James McGarvey

Dec. 1, 1942 — Feb. 16, 2018

James William McGarvey, 75, of Granger, passed away on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, in the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center of Mishawaka. James was born on Dec. 1, 1942, in Ironton, to Gilbert and Esther (Kelly) McGarvey.
James proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a medic, and served four tours in Vietnam, before being honorably discharged in 1972. He and his first wife, Vera, the mother of his children, divorced, and on Oct. 14, 1979, in Orange, Texas, he married the love of his life, Faith Ward. He worked many jobs over the years, from being a cook on an offshore oilrig to his retirement from CTDI. He was a member of the American Legion Post 303. James enjoyed following the Chicago Bears and the Cubs on TV.
James is survived by his loving wife, Faith; along with his five children, Sandy McGarvey, Sarah McGarvey, Eddie (Robin) McGarvey, Calvin McGarvey and Selina (Jesse) Rocha, all of Texas.
He was the grandfather to five and his nieces and nephews, whom he loved dearly, Joanie (John) Nelson, Ralph (Rose) Long, Janet Wagner, Janie Carmon, Lena Mallar (deceased), Molly Blackstock, Mark Moore; and many great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Woodland Cemetery Section P with his nephew, Ralph Long, to speak. Military graveside rites will be by the VFW Post 8850 and Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Roger Miller

Oct. 29,1953 — April 2, 2018

Roger Lee Miller, 64, of Ironton, died, Monday, April 2, 2018, in Huntington, West Virginia. Roger was born Oct. 29, 1953, in Ironton to the Late Kirney and Mildred Pemberton Miller.
In addition to his parents, Roger is preceded in death by his late wife, Diane Miller; one brother, Leroy Pemberton and one sister, Donna Miller.
He is survived by his son, Brandon Lee Miller, and his daughter-in- law, Angela Miller, of Huntington, West Virginia; his girlfriend, Malinda Jones; four brothers, Charles Miller, Kirney Miller Jr., Ronald Miller and Paul Miller; one sister, Betty Miller Conner; two stepdaughters, Lisa Jones and Mellissa Callicoat; and six grandkids, Devon, Jameson, Ava, Braxton, Jacob and Desiree.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary in Huntington, West Virginia. Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary in

Mary Jackson

Mary Jackson, 77, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Monday, April 2, 2018, at home.  Funeral service will be 7 p.m. today at Apostolic Life Cathedral, Huntington, West Virginia. Cindy Blake

Cindy Blake, 42, of South Point, died Saturday, March 31, 2018, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. She is survived by her husband, Bryan Blake.

Kimberly Hill

Kimberly Sue Hill, 58, of Ironton, died Monday, April 2, 2018, at home. She is survived by her husband, Robert F. Hill. A memorial service will be at a later date with Fred Wiles officiating.
