Set for Friday, March 23 at CCTC
Symmes Valley freshman Laykin Hayes, Chesapeake junior Tanner Harr and Fairland senior Ally Henderson are all currently battling cancer, and several local churches have set up a spaghetti dinner fundraiser for their benefit.
Students from the three school districts’ Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) groups will be working as volunteers at the event, which will take place from 4:30-8 p.m. Friday at Collins Career Technical Center. All money raised at the event will be split equally between the three students.
“We want to raise as much money as possible for these students,” Justin Berry, pastor of Getaway Community Church, Symmes Valley High School FCA sponsor and one of the organizers of the event, said. “We are hoping for a big crowd.”
Tickets are $5 per person, which includes spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and a beverage. Presale tickets are encouraged, and available by calling Berry at Symmes Valley High School at 740-643-2371, and will be for sale at the door the day of the dinner as well.
