Sara Barbour

June 23, 1920 — Jan. 1, 2018

Sara Elizabeth Barbour, 97 of South Point, passed away Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
She was born June 23, 1920, in Salyersville, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Filmore McKinley Bayes and Juanita Tallent Bayes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kelsie Barbour; and her brother, Carlos Woodford Bayes.
Sara graduated from South Point High School, retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and attended South Point Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Barbour.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.

Emma Canado

Emma Jean Canado, 82, of Chesapeake, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at 16th Street Baptist Church, Huntington, West Virginia. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park, Huntington, West Virginia. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the church. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with arrangements. Raymond Houchin

Raymond Earl Houchin, 81, of South Point, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, at Cornerstone Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Elinore Gay Houchin.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville, with pastor Aaron Childers officiating. Rocky Griffin

Rocky Griffin, 69, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at home.
Funeral service will be noon Thursday at Full Gospel Assembly Church, Huntington, West Virginia. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-noon Thursday at the church. Charles Paese

Charles James Paese, 87, of South Point, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Mary Paese. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
