Elks grants available to students

Affects those attending technical colleges, pursuing associate’s degree
The Ironton Elks Lodge 177 and the Ohio Elks Association will award education grants in the amount of $1,000 in 2018 to students desiring to continue their education, acquire new skills or improve existing skills.
The grants will be awarded to applicants to attend a career or technical institution or pursuing an associate’s degree. Bachelor degree programs will not qualify for the grant funding.
Although graduating high school seniors are eligible to apply, older students who desire training or retraining are encouraged to apply for these grants. A high school diploma or GED is required.
Applications are available online at www.web-ster.net/ohioelks. Click on the “Educational Fund Grant” link on the left hand side of the page to download the application. Applications can also be requested by contacting the Ironton Elks at elks177@gmail.com or by calling 740-532-1262 with any questions.
The local application deadline is Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018. Completed applications should be dropped off at the Ironton Elks Lodge or mailed to the lodge, 416 Park Ave., Ironton, OH 45638.
