Marshall slips past Bobcats

ATHENS (AP) — DeAndre Kane scored 18 points and Marshall made 10 of 12 free throws down the stretch in a 65-57 win over Ohio on Saturday.
The Thundering Herd (5-2) led 37-27 and the Bobcats (4-3) went on a 16-6 run to tie it at 43.
Marshall then brought the lead back to 51-45 but Ohio once again rallied, knotting it up again at 55 on D.J. Cooper’s 3 with 3:35 to play.
From that point, the Thundering Herd made it count from the free-throw line and the Bobcats went 0 for 3 from 3-point range.
The Thundering Herd shot 72.2 percent from the line in the second half (13 of 18) and Kane finished shooting 7 of 12 from the foul line for the game.
Tirrell Baines had his eighth career double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds for Marshall.
Cooper finished with 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists and DeVaughn Washington and Ivo Baltic scored 10 points each for the Bobcats.
