Open Door School puts on Christmas presentation
The students of the Open Door School put on their annual Christmas presentation Friday in the gym, performing “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” as the main act.
Usually, the school’s Christmas program consists of several Christmas carols and small productions.
However, this year it was decided to have one main production.
“This year, we decided to do a program that was more inclusive for all of our students to participate in,” Kendra Heim, principal of Open Door School, said. “I chose “‘Twas the Night Before Christmas” because a lot of students could have a speaking role, as well as there being a lot of parts to act out.”
The Open Door School Vocational 2 students helped with the props and handling everything backstage, in which Heim commended them for their job.
“Everything went really well, and I think everyone enjoyed it,” Heim said. “All of the students and staff did a fantastic job.”
Before the main production, the school’s two bell choirs performed “Silver Bells,” “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” “Silent Night,” and “Hark the Herald Angel Sings.”
The school has put on a Christmas program for more than 20 years.
