Several sentenced in CP court

Lawrence County Common Pleas Judges Andy Ballard and Charles Cooper heard several cases on Wednesday.
• Damon K. Alexander, 18, of 1115 S. Third St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to three counts of trafficking in drugs (methamphetamine), all felonies of the third-degree. Judge Andy Ballard sentenced him to four years community-controlled sanctions (CCS) with 11 months prison reserved, and ordered him to complete STAR.
• Jason R. Blair, 40, of 1091 County Road 115, Chesapeake, pleaded not guilty to one count of possession of drugs (Lortab), a fifth-degree felony, and one count of possession of heroin, also a felony of the fifth-degree. Judge Ballard set bond at $30,000 OR, and set pretrial for Dec. 5.
• Clarence Botkins, 45, of 118 Private Drive 4287, Ironton, pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a third-degree felony. Judge Ballard sentenced him to 10 months in prison with credit for time served.
• Jonathan M. Dunn, 25, of 1139 Normandy Road, Portsmouth, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drugs (cocaine), a fifth-degree felony. He was eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction, and Judge Ballard ordered him to complete treatment at Riverside Recovery Services.
• Brad A. Jenkins, 28, of 1107 S. Fourth St., Ironton, previously pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking in drugs (methamphetamine), all third-degree felonies. Judge Ballard sentenced him to three years in prison with credit for 76 days served, and ordered him to pay court costs.
• Jackie Payne, 44, of 411 Walnut St., Ironton, denied CCS violations. Judge Ballard set CCS trial for next week.
• Timothy Perkins, 55, of 7895 County Road 1, South Point, pleaded not guilty to forgery, a felony of the fifth-degree. Judge Ballard set bond at $25,000 OR, and set pretrial for next week.
• Gary M. Scott, 38, of 124 Township Road 1049, Ironton, pleaded not guilty to trafficking in drugs (marijuana), a felony of the fifth-degree. Judge Ballard set bond at $20,000 cash or surety and $25,000 OR. Pretrial was set for next week.
• Branden L. Sites, 28, of 1947 County Road 415, Pedro, previously pleaded not guilty to one count of complicity to counterfeit a controlled substance, a fourth-degree felony, and in another case, previously pleaded not guilty to one count of tampering with evidence and one count of escape, both felonies of the third-degree. Judge Ballard set the final pretrial for a final offer in both cases for Dec. 13. If he doesn’t take the final offer, trial in both cases is set for Feb. 5, 2018.
• Aizon Sudderth, 21, of 1311 Beech St., Apt. 4, Ashland, Kentucky, pleaded not guilty to one count of improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle, a fourth-degree felony. Judge Ballard set bond at $2,500 cash or surety and $25,000 OR. Pretrial was set for Dec. 13.
• Rickey A. Waddle, 23, of 1115 S. Third St., Apt. A, Ironton, previously pleaded guilty to three counts of trafficking in drugs (methamphetamine), all third-degree felonies. Judge Ballard sentenced him to three years in prison.
• Joseph D. Whaley, 27, of 1111 S. Ninth St., Ironton, denied CCS violations. Judge Ballard set CCS trial for next week.
• Vanessa M. Woods, 29, of 116 Ashland Drive, Apt. A, South Point, pleaded not guilty to one count of aggravated trafficking in drugs (methamphetamine), a second-degree felony, and one count of aggravated possession of drugs (methamphetamine), also a felony of the second-degree. Judge Ballard set bond at $25,000 OR and set pretrial for Nov. 29.
• Amber N. Burgess, 33, of 48 Private Drive 13567, Chesapeake, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of a controlled substance (heroin), a fifth-degree felony. Judge Charles Cooper sentenced her to four years CCS under intensive supervised probation (ISP) with 11 months prison reserved.
• Norman L. Fulks II, 42, of 115 Township Road 1111, Proctorville, pleaded guilty to two counts of theft, both fifth-degree felonies. Judge Cooper sentenced him to four years CCS under ISP on both counts with 11 months reserved on each to run consecutively for a total of 22 months in prison reserved.
• Timothy K. Jenkins, 61, of 620 Lawrence Street, Apt. A, Ironton, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony. Judge Cooper sentenced him to six months in prison, and ordered him to pay a $250 fine.
• Thomas Ratcliff, 25, of 301 Third St. E., Apt 16, South Point, pleaded guilty to one count of trafficking in drugs (Oxycodone), a third-degree felony, and one count of trafficking in drugs (cocaine), a fifth-degree felony. Judge Cooper set sentencing for Nov. 29.
