Stevens, Miller first RH girls in state XC meet

PICKERINGTON — A couple of first-year high school students are also the first to do something in school history.
Rock Hill Redwomen freshmen cross country runners Bella Stevens and Camryn Miller are the first girls in school history to qualify for the state meet.
During last Saturday’s regional meet at Pickerington North High School, Stevens had an impressive 11th-place finish as she had a 20:15.84 clocking while Miller ran a 20:22.92 and finished 19th among the 133 runners.
The top five teams and individuals among the top 20 runners advance to the state meet to be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hebron at National Trail Raceway located about 25 miles east of Columbus off Interstate 70.
Baylee Hack of Mount Gilead ran a 19:09.11 to win the overall individual title.
The Rock Hill Redmen boys were eighth as a team in Div. II with 305 points. Sheridan won the meet with 58 points and Unioto had 79.
Junior Ethan Miler led the Redmen with a 17:40.85 clocking followed by Jasson Aguilera at 17:43.76, Logan Boggs 17:54.01, Victor Aguilera 18:01.21, Eli Baker 18:19.83 and Brady Floyd had an 18:23.77 time.
Fairland Dragons’ Ethan Lafon ran an 18:10.46.
The top seven teams and individuals among the top 28 runners advance to the state meet.
Just missing a state trip was the Fairland Lady Dragons’ junior McKenna Pannell who was 27th in Division II as she ran a 20:10.79.
The top six teams and individuals among the top 24 runners advance to the state.
In the boys’ Div. III, Green Bobcats’ James Hallam ran a 19:40.72, Zach Huffman 19:53.68, Tanner Kimbler 19:05.56, Ethan Huffman 19:48. 04 and Tayte Carver a 20:03.45.

The state meet schedule has the girls’ Div. III at 11 a.m., the girls’ Div. II at 11:45 a.m., the girls’ Div. I at 12:30 p.m., the boys’ Div. III at 1:30, the boys’ Div. II at 2:15 and the boys’ Div. I at 3 p.m.
