Mable Heaberlin
June 27, 1920 — Oct. 4, 2017

Mable L. Heaberlin, 97, of Ironton, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017.  She was born June 27, 1920, the daughter of the late Charles and Lily Lane.  She graduated from Ironton High School in 1938 and spent her entire life in Lawrence County.
During World War II, Mable worked at Henrite Products Corporation before marrying Orville Heaberlin, who preceded her in death on April 27, 1983.  She is also preceded in death by three brothers, John, Charles and Warren, and five sisters, Helen, Nell, Lil, Eloise and Irene. Mable was a devout Christian and a member of the Elm Street Nazarene Church.
Mable is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Janice Heaberlin, of Ironton; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Ronnie Clark, of Plain City; a sister, Pauline Perry; three granddaughters, Stephanie Clark, of Ironton, Heidi (Scott) Evans, of Hilliard, and Amy (Scott) Gillespie, of Bristow, Virginia; three grandsons, Chris (Jennifer) Clark, of Plain City, Aaron Clark, of Columbus, and Matthew (Stephannie), of Sydney; 10 great-grandchildren, Ashley Clark, Lauren Bookhamer, Victoria and Lydia Evans, Olivia Gillespie, Joshua and Caleb Clark, Tyler Clark, and Kayla and Hannah Heaberlin; and two great-great grandchildren, Lyrik and Auriya Bookhamer.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Sugar Creek Cemetery, with Pastor Wayne Beard officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. Sixth St. in Ironton. Donations may be made to the Community Hospice Care Center, 2330 Pollard Rd., Ashland, KY 41101. Pallbearers will be Chris Clark, Aaron Clark, Tyler Clark, Matthew Heaberlin, Scott Evans and Scott Gillespie.

Donna Lipker

Aug. 19, 1934 — Oct. 1, 2017

Donna Mae Herrell Lipker, 83, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. She was born Aug. 19, 1934, to Rex and Doris Massie Herrell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lipker.
Donna was a 1952 graduate of Waterloo High School and was a former employee of Wilson’s Sporting Goods, Sears order office and the Lawrence County General Hospital.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Davis and Lois Cade; and one brother, Paul Herrell.
She is survived by one daughter, Pamela Kemper, and her friend, Jeff Kemper; a granddaughter, Robilyn (Russ) Emlund; one great-grandson, Evan Kemper; two step great-grandchildren, Joey and Katie Emlund; two sisters, Georgia (Carlos) Willis and Kay (Donald) Myers; one brother and sister-in-law, Garold “Pete” and Lois Herrell; two brothers-in-law, Carl Davis and Lee Cade; and a sister-in-law, Linda Herrell.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Minister Jim Williams officiating. Ralph Joseph

Jan. 29, 1940 — Oct. 4, 2017

Ralph Franklin Joseph, 77, of Pedro, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at a local health care facility.
The Lawrence County native was born jan. 29, 1940, a son of the late Charles and Georgia Kelley Joseph.  He was also preceded in death by his wife, Donna Gail Joseph.
Mr. Joseph attended Rock Hill High School and was a former heavy equipment operator for the Lawrence County Engineer’s Office for more than 31 years. He loved flea markets and going to Walmart to socialize. He enjoyed four wheel riding, hunting, fishing and loved family gatherings. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Joseph and Teddy Joseph.
He is survived by a daughter, Brenda (Paul) Mullins, of Pine Grove; a son, Ralph Lee Joseph, of Pedro; four grandchildren, Jessica Joseph, Laura Bazell, Joshua Joseph and Jonathan Joseph; four great-grandchildren, Hadley Bazell, Harper Bazell, Adalynn Clark and Hunter Clark; and three brothers, Charles Joseph, Larry Joseph and Kenneth Joseph.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Bro. Dave Schug officiating. Burial will follow in Puckett Cemetery and visitation will be Saturday from noon, until the time of the service at the funeral home. Tina Liston

Tina Louise Liston, 48, of South Point, died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland. She is survived by her husband, Eric Liston.
Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory in Proctorville. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Huntington. Claire Black

Oct. 29, 1922 — Oct. 4, 2017

Claire Black, 94, of Charleston, died Oct. 4, 2017, at her home in Kanawha City. Born Oct. 29, 1922, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,  she was the youngest of seven and the last surviving child of John J. and Mary A. Lang Walsh.
Claire was a 51-year resident of Charleston, and formerly lived in Clarksburg, West Virginia, before the family moved to Charleston in 1966. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church where she was a faithful member of the choir. She was a talented classical pianist and taught piano to a number of Charleston area youths in the 1960s and 70s. She worked as a legal secretary for several attorneys in Clarksburg and Charleston, and ultimately retired from the West Virginia  Department of Mental Health where she worked for Dr. Margaret Mitchell Bateman.
Although diminutive in stature, Claire was a giant person to all who knew her. She was kind, compassionate, and in service to others. When asked at the age of five what she wanted to be when she grew up, she replied “A mother.” Her wish was fulfilled and her love, wisdom and strength will be forever remembered by her children. She loved the beach, from the days of her childhood on the Jersey shore, to her retirement years on the west coast of Florida where she enjoyed time with several of her siblings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin H. Black, son, M. Anthony Black, and daughters, Maureen Black and Nancy Martin. She is survived by daughters Betsy Malfregeot (Marcel) of Clarksburg and Susan Black of Winfield, son Jeff Black (Krista) of South Charleston, special niece Sue Hodinko of Cape Coral, FL, and longtime friend Lora Jean Jarrell of Charleston.
She is also survived by grandchildren Marcel Malfregeot III, Michael Malfregeot, Susan Malfregeot, Lisa Martin Frye, Stephen Martin, Betsy Black Casto, Duncan McMaster, Kelley Rogers, and Kris Raynes; and great-grandchildren Alex, Ava, Andrew, Silas, and Clark Malfregeot, as well as Xander, Thatcher, and Ginny Frye, Atley Casto, and Karley and Kolbe Rogers.
The family wishes to thank her wonderful, dedicated caregivers who made her last several years most comfortable and enjoyable: Sandy Clark, Becky Surface, Tiffany Jarrett, Lynn Donaldson, Judy Raines, Edie Surbaugh, Cindy Wood, and Hazel Langley. They will be forever in our hearts and part of our family. We also thank HospiceCare for managing Mom’s final days of life.

A service to Honor the Life of Claire will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 9, 2017, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Charleston with Fr. Joseph Augustine officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park, South Charleston. Family and Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at the church.

Joseph Abram

Joseph Paul Abram, 58, passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2017, finally having no more pain and suffering. He was born May 25, 1959.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Abram, of Colorado; sisters, Carol (Ron-deceased) Hinkle, Mary (Tom) Koon and Alice (Sherd) Stevens, of Kentucky; brothers, Charles (Gloria) and John (Richie), of Colorado; sons, Joseph, Paul and Robert; 11 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles.
Visitation will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Shaw-Davis Funeral Home, Columbus, with the funeral service to follow at 3 p.m.

Audrey Neal (Estep)

May 24, 1934 — Oct. 3, 2017

Audrey Neal, 83, a native of South Point and resident of Starke, Florida, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, in South Point.
She was born May 24, 1934. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Ida McCarty. She was a loving mother, and former bus driver for the South Point School district, and she had an awesome green thumb, owning her own green house appropriately named Audrey’s Greenhouse. She is survived by her seven children, Frenda Tenner, Jessie Neal, Chauncey Neal Jr., Kathleen Pemberton, Betty Adkins, Harold Neal and Alice Neal; sisters, Dolly Daniels and Sue Stewart; and brothers.
