Numerous cases were heard Wednesday in front of Lawrence County Common Pleas Judges Charles Cooper and Andy Ballard, ranging from drugs to burglary to operating vehicles while impaired.

• Melissa Jones, 39, of 1088 A. Newman’s Branch Road, Milton, West Virginia, previously pleaded not guilty to possession of cocaine, a fourth-degree felony, trafficking in drugs (marijuana), a fourth-degree felony, two counts of possession of drugs (Amphetamine and Dextroamphetamine), both felonies of the fifth-degree, endangering children, a first-degree misdemeanor, and possession of drug abuse instruments, a felony of the second-degree. Judge Charles Cooper continued her bond and set trial for Oct. 12.

• Ernest Edens, 29, of 514 Railroad Street, Ironton, pleaded not guilty to two counts of trafficking in heroin, felonies of the fifth-degree, and trafficking in drugs (Suboxone), a fourth-degree felony. Judge Cooper continued bond and set pretrial for Oct. 25.

• Richard Thompson, 35, of 103 Township Road 1118, Chesapeake, pleaded guilty to trafficking in heroin, a first-degree felony, possession of heroin, a second-degree felony, trafficking in drugs (methamphetamine), a first-degree felony, and possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a felony of the second-degree. Judge Cooper sentenced him to seven months in prison. He also forfeited more than $50,000 and firearms.

• Brandon Justice, 31, of 25 Private Drive 909, Ironton, previously pleaded guilty to possession of drug abuse instruments, a second-degree misdemeanor, and tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony. Judge Cooper sentenced him to 18 months in prison with credit for 42 days served, and ordered him to pay court costs.

• Robert Goldsby, 29, of 2113 N. Third Street, Ironton, previously pleaded guilty to burglary, a felony of the second-degree. Judge Cooper sentenced him to four years in prison and ordered him to pay restitution and court costs.

• Charles Burns, 37, of 1515 S. Third Street, Ironton, denied community-controlled sanctions (CCS) violations. Judge Cooper set trial for Oct. 18.

• Timothy Jenkins, 61, of 620 Lawrence Street, Ironton, pleaded not guilty to possession of cocaine, a felony of the fifth-degree, operating a motor vehicle while under suspension, a first-degree misdemeanor, and possession of a controlled substance (Buprenorphine/Nalozone), a first-degree misdemeanor. Judge Cooper continued bond and set pretrial for Oct. 25.

• Dustin Boyd, 23, of 48 County Road 450, South Point, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs (Oxycodone), felonies of the third-degree. Judge Cooper sentenced him to four years and 11 months in prison to run consecutively.

• Cheyenne Belville, 18, of 1412 S. First Street, Ironton, previously pleaded not guilty to receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony, possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor of the fourth-degree. Judge Cooper continued bond and set trial for Oct. 26.

• Antonio Murphy, 27, of 118 N. Sixth Street, Ironton, previously pleaded not guilty to two counts of trafficking in marijuana, one a felony of the fourth-degree and the other of the fifth-degree, and trafficking in cocaine, a fourth-degree felony. Judge Andy Ballard continued his cash/surety bond from a lower court and added a $25,000 OR bond. Trial was set for next week.

• Charles Waddell, 41, of 514 Railroad Street, Ironton, pleaded not guilty to felonious assault, a second-degree felony. Judge Ballard set bond at $50,000 cash or surety and $100,000 OR.

• Jonathon Bowman, 18, of 1724 Campbell Drive, Ironton, pleaded not guilty to breaking and entering, a felony of the fourth-degree. Judge Ballard set bond at $10,000 cash or surety or have him be placed on GPS monitoring and $25,000 OR. Pretrial was set for Oct. 11.

• Ashley Ross, 33, of 323 52nd Street, Ashland, Kentucky, pleaded guilty to theft of drugs (Xanax, amoxicillin, ibuprofen, Motrin, Tylenol and Tylenol PM), a fourth-degree felony. Judge Ballard sentenced her to six months in prison to run concurrent with a sentence she is currently serving in Kentucky, and ordered her to pay court costs.

• Aaron Pemberton, 43, of 2519 S. Seventh Street, Ironton, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a felony of the fifth-degree. Judge Ballard sentenced him to four years CCS under intensive supervised probation (ISP) with 11 months reserved, and ordered him to complete STAR and pay $36 in restitution as well as court costs.

• Tara Jiles, 37, of 707 Etna Street, Ironton, pleaded not guilty to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a fourth-degree felony, and driving while under suspension, a misdemeanor of the first-degree. Judge Ballard set bond at $25,000 OR and ordered her to be on GPS monitoring from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Pretrial was set for Oct. 18.

• Phillip Angeron, 31, of 522 Sixth Street, Huntington, West Virginia, pleaded not guilty to possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony. Judge Ballard continued his $1,500 cash or surety bond from lower court and added a $25,000 OR bond. Pretrial was set for Oct. 18.

• Brenna Shavor, 35, of 255 Township Road 1534, Proctorville, admitted CCS violations. Judge Ballard continued her CCS, sentenced her to 60 days in jail, and ordered her to complete treatment at Mended Reeds and 200 hours community service.

• Randall Epilon, 53, of 96 Private Drive 501, Chesapeake, pleaded not guilty to possession of drugs (heroin), a fifth-degree felony, and operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a first-degree misdemeanor. Judge Ballard set bond at $1,500 cash or surety and $25,000 OR. Pretrial was set for Oct. 25.

• Deon Henry, 42, of 13996 Wisconsin Street, Detroit, Michigan, pleaded not guilty to trafficking in drugs (Oxycodone), a second-degree felony, and aggravated possession of drugs (Oxycodone), also a felony of the second-degree. Judge Ballard set bond at $50,000 cash or surety and $100,000 OR.

• Shawn Harris, 37, of 124 Grant Drive, Greenup, Kentucky, pleaded not guilty to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a third-degree felony, and operating a motor vehicle while under suspension, a first-degree misdemeanor. Judge Ballard set bond at $10,000 cash or surety and $25,000 OR. Pretrial was set for Oct. 25.

• Dean Montroso, 46, of 1453 County Road 1, South Point, previously pleaded not guilty to possession of drugs (Oxycodone), a fifth-degree felony. Judge Ballard upped his bond to $200,000 cash or surety and $500,000 OR.
