Lady Panthers escapes Lady Vikings’ upset bid

PORTSMOUTH — Now that was a volleyball game.
The Portsmouth Clay Lady Panthers avoided an upset as they escaped with a five-set win over the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings on Thursday.
Clay beat the Lady Vikings in the Southern Ohio Conference volleyball game 25-22, 24-26, 25-23, 13-25 and 16-14.
Savannah Webb had 16 points with two aces while Taylor Webb had 15 points and four aces to pace the Lady Vikings.
Taylor Webb also had 19 kills and five blocks. Kaitlyn Crabtree and Kinley Patterson had 10 kills each.
Ericca Ross had 17 assists and Morgan Jenkins 13. Ross also had 13 digs with Payton Hunter getting 10 digs.
Symmes Valley won the jayvee game.
The Lady Vikings visits St. Joseph on Monday.
