Burlington Elementary, SP Middle seeing changes

SOUTH POINT — Burlington Elementary will have a new principal in the fall, and it is a familiar face.

Michael Clay, who has served as assistant principal at the school for several years, will take over the top job for the 2017-18 school year.

Sarah Nuckols, who was principal until June, has decided to return to teaching at the school, superintendent Mark Christian said.

Taking over Clay’s former position as assistant principal will be Cassie Lunsford, who Christian said was a teacher at South Point Middle School.

Christian also said South Point Middle School will be getting a new assistant principal.

Sarah Chapman will move into the position, as Greg Sullivan has moved to another job, Christian said.

He said the changes in faculty were decided at a board meeting earlier this summer.
