Facility looks promising

Putting a shovel into the ground and turning over dirt can seem miniscule to some, but what will soon be on the same property certainly will not be when Harbison Walker International opens its new $30 million facility in The Point Industrial Park in South Point.
While the number of new jobs that will come with its opening is still being decided, any new jobs in Southern Ohio, and particularly in Lawrence County, is a positive for all involved.
Developing companies locally that have an international reach with their products, along with the infrastructure that can make Lawrence County a candidate, is something that we have working in our favor.
While we may never fully get back to the industrial level we once were at, getting quality companies with quality jobs back here at home will be on the forefront of our future progress as a community.
We have many qualified people in the workforce; it is now a matter of taking advantage of the opportunities available. We hope that groundbreaking events like this become commonplace here in Lawrence County, but it will take continuing to work together as a community to realize the goals and build a brighter future for our children and grandchildren.
In the end, this is a win for the Village of South Point and Lawrence County.
