Lennie Hurst

April 16, 1941 — May 14, 2017

Lennie Evelyn Hurst, 76, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017, at her daughter’s residence. The Huntington, West Virginia native was born April 16, 1941, a daughter of the late James O. Sr. and Martha Kipp Roach. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Hurst Sr., whom she married March 14, 1960.
Mrs. Hurst attended Green Township High School, was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Hurst; three brothers, James O. Roach Jr., Frank Roach and John Calvin Roach; and a sister: Ellen Roach.
She is survived by five sons, James (Jerri) Hurst, Jr., Jeffrey (Jill) Hurst and Marshall (Sherry) Hurst, all of Franklin Furnace, and Michael (Tammy) Hurst and Rocky (Becky) Hurst, all of Ironton; a daughter, Melody (David) Mulkey, of Ironton; two sisters, Nellie (James) Hatfield, of Huntington, West Virginia, and Sally (Dewey Smith) Roach, of Franklin Furnace; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with Brother Tony Mollett officiating. Burial will follow in Haverhill Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Kay Lynn Gibson

Dec. 23, 1942 — May 12, 2017

Kay Lynn Kinder Gibson, 74, of South Point, passed away Friday, May 12, 2017, at Jo-Lin Health Center, Ironton.
Funeral services will be noon Thursday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. Burial will follow at Sycamore Cemetery, Culloden, West Virginia.
Kay was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Lawrence County, a daughter of the late William Roy and Mary Leatha Jordan Kinder.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buford Gibson; and four brothers, William Curtis Kinder, Elmond Kinder, Aubrey Kinder and Barney Kinder.
Kay is survived by her sister, Barbara Pennington, of South Point; and several nieces and nephews.

Clayton Walter Wilson, 95, of Ashland, Kentucky, formerly of South Point, died Friday, May 12, 2017, at Woodland Oaks, Ashland, Kentucky.
