Enoch Frazier, Jr.
Oct. 16, 1948 — May 5, 2017
Enoch “June Bug” Frazier, Jr., 68, of Proctorville, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017, at Best Care in Wheelersburg. Mr. Frazier was born Oct. 16, 1948, in West Virginia, to Delphia Lee Stevenson Frazier, of Proctorville, and the late Enoch Frazier, Sr.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Kay Lafon.
Enoch attended Buffalo High School in Wayne County, West Virginia, and was employed by Tri-State Industries for 30 years. He loved listening to music, especially 50s and 60s. Enoch is survived by his mother and many cousins.
There will be a funeral service to honor Mr. Frazier at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Kilgore and Collier Funeral Home, 2702 Panola Street, Catlettsburg. Pastor Paul Drake will officiate. Committal service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the Rome Cemetery, Proctorville. Visiting hours are 6 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Phil Pelfry
Oct. 1, 1932 — May 6, 2017
Phil D. Pelfry, 84, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. The Lawrence County native was born Oct. 1, 1932, a son of the late Wallace and Margaret Donohoe Roach. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Whitt Pelfry, whom he married Nov.11, 1952.
Mr. Pelfry was a 1950 graduate of Ironton High School and a U.S. Navy Aircore veteran. He was a former engineer with AT&T, retiring in 1989 after 38 years of service, and a former Chief of Upper Township Fire Department. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 198, Ironton Elks BPOE #177, American Legion Post 433, VFW Post #8850 and Royal Order of Jesters. He is a member of First Methodist Church in Ironton.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Terrie (John) Long, of Ironton; a son, William Pelfry, of Ironton; grandchildren, Jessica (Ray) Jones, Lori Beth Cunningham, Brittany Norris, Michael Norris and Sterling Pelfry; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Don Woolum officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery. Jim Orrick
Jim B. Orrick of Pewee Valley, Kentucky, died Saturday, May 6, 2017, after a brief illness. He was 82. He was a faithful man of God who preached the gospel of Jesus Christ for over 60 years. He lived by the truth he preached.
He pastored the Newby Baptist Church near Richmond, Kentucky for seven years. He then pastored the Storms Creek Missionary Baptist Church, Ironton, for over 41 years. Since his retirement from full-time ministry in 2005, he has continued to bless many congregations with his preaching. He was an ardent promoter of foreign missions and served for many years as president of Baptist Faith Missions.
A native of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Jim was twice inducted into the Mt. Vernon High School Athletic Hall of Fame, once for basketball and once for football. After graduating high school, he graduated from Lexington Baptist College. Jim was the son of the late Ada and J.A. Orrick. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Irene.
He is survived by two brothers, John R. Orrick, of High Ridge, Missouri, and Paul A. Orrick, of Oakland, Illinois; three children, Cindy Orrick, of West Point, Mississippi, Jim Scott Orrick, of LaGrange, Kentucky, and Ann Orrick Wohlfarth, of Williamsburg, Kentucky.
He was the much-loved “Baboo” to 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He died at home, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. He died like a Son of God, full of faith and hope. He fought a good fight, he finished his course, and he kept the faith.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Morehead, Kentucky. Savannah Bare
Savannah C. Bare, 28, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia.

Patricia Edwards
Patricia “Patty” Ann (Evans) Edwards, 63, of Ashland, Kentucky, died Friday, May 5, 2017, at her residence. She is survived by her husband, Charles B. “Brent” Edwards, of Ashland.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Rubyville Community Church in Rubyville, with the Rev. Brian Baer officiating. Burial will follow in Ashland Cemetery. There will be no public visitation, and Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, is assisting the family with arrangements. John Burks
John Burks, 71, of Ironton, died Thursday, May 4, 2017, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Russell, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today in the Chapel of the Brown Funeral Chapel, Ironton. Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service today at the chapel. The family has entrusted his care to Brown Funeral Chapel, Ironton.
