SOUTH POINT — All you need is one.

The South Point Pointers scored just one run but it proved to be all they needed as they slipped past the Green Bobcats 1-0 on Wednesday.

Logan Wade and Douglas Shaffer combined on a three-hitter. Wade went 5.2 innings, struck out six, gave up two hits but walked eight. Shaffer finished for the save as he struck out three and allowed one hit. Tanner Kimbler pitched a complete game for Green (16-4). He struck out three, walked one and scattered eight hits.

The only run of the game scored in the second inning.

Douglas Shaffer led off the inning with a double and Max Tabor sacrificed him to third base. After Chris Napier lined out, Elijah Adams got a two-out single to score Shaffer.

The Pointers (15-7) got to second base once on a double by Adams in the fifth and Travis Dillon doubled and went to third base leading off the sixth but was left stranded.

Green loaded the bases in the first inning but a double play ended the threat.

Kimbler reached on an error and got to third on a wild pitch but failed to score in the third. Drew Ramey and Rylee Maynard got back-to-back two out walks in the sixth before the next batter struck out.

Adams finished the game 2-2 with a double and an RBI. Tayte Carver was 2-2 for Green.
