ASHLAND — A popular discount chain’s store has re-opened to Tri-State customers following an extensive remodeling.
ALDI hosted a ribbon-cutting on Monday at their newly-renovated Ashland store, located at 130 Russell Road.
According to a news release from the company, the store’s exclusive food brands, which make up more than 90 percent of their inventory, have an added focus on health, removing MSG, certified synthetic colors and partially hydrogenated oils from the items.
“We also make it easy for families to make smart choices, with healthy tips posted in the produce section and a range of “Dietician’s Picks” — a spread of ALDI products hand-picked for their nutritional value by a panel of registered dieticians,” an ALDI representative said.
To modernize their location, the remodeled store features brighter colors, higher ceilings, increased natural lighting and more spacious aisles and check-outs, she said.
As part of the grand re-opening, the store offered eco-friendly, reusable bag distribution and a “Golden Ticket Giveaway” of gift cards of various values to the shoppers who were camped out for the morning event.
ALDI operates more than 1,600 stores in the United States, operating in 35 states.
Altogether, the remodeling of the Ashland store took a little over a month.
“The Ashland ALDI store was closed for remodeling from Monday, Feb. 6 through Monday, March 13, ALDI Springfield Division Vice President Sarah Brown said. “Today, we revealed the store’s fresh, new look during our official Grand Reopening ceremony. We look forward to offering the local community high-quality groceries at the lowest possible prices at our newly renovated Ashland location.”
