SOUTH POINT — The annual spring community yard sale for the village of South Point is set for April 1.
Mayor Jeff Gaskin said the event, which always takes place the first Saturday in April, is open for anyone in the village who wants to have a garage or yard sale.
“We advertise it, and we put on extra police for the traffic,” Gaskin said.
He said, in addition to the yard sale, the village would also host document shredding.
A shredder truck will be set up on the parking lot of the old Family Dollar next to village hall.
“It’s for village residents only,” he said. “People can bring up to a 40-gallon, commercial sized container of documents and have them shredded, free of charge.”
Gaskin said the spring clean-up in the village will take place the last full week of April.
“Whatever people don’t sell at the yard sale, they can put out and we’ll haul it off,” he said.
Another yard sale will take place in the fall, on the first Saturday of October, followed by a clean-up the last week of that month, Gaskin said.
