Ironton officials to hold
youth tournament
The Ironton Chapter of Basketball Officials Association will conduct its second annual Biddy Ball Tournament to be held March 16-19 at Coal Grove middle and high schools.
Entry fee is $100 and teams are guaranteed four games. Entry deadline is Sunday, March 12 and there is a $25 deposit per team.
The tournament is for girls and boys’ teams in grades 4-5-6. The tournament uses registered high school officials from the Ironton chapter.

Proceeds benefit two scholarships given to local high school students.

Ironton Little League
sets registration dates
The Ironton National Little League will be conducting registrations for the upcoming little league baseball/softball season for boys and girls ages 4-to-16.
Registrations will be held Thursday at Wendy’s in Ironton with times to be determined.

Lady Vikings softball
plans rummage sale
The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings’ softball team will conduct its ninth annual rummage sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 4, at the high school.
Any persons wanting to make a donation should drop off items at the school from 3-8 p.m. on Friday, March 3, or contact coach Jeff “Odie” Estep at (749) 643-2371 (school) or 643-2021 (home).

Former Rio star forming
frosh hoops club team
Former Ironton All-Ohio basketball player and University of Rio Grande captain and standout Travis Elliott is inviting interested players to join a basketball club team based out of Jackson that will be comprised of boys who are current freshmen.
Players interested in playing for the team and improving their skills should contact Elliott at (740) 646-8689.

OYB youth basketball
tournament Feb. 24-26
The 14th Annual OYB School Team State Championships is scheduled for Feb. 24-25-26 at Central Crossing, Reynoldsburg and Westerville Central high schools along with Hilliard city schools.
More than 200 schools have competed in this unique tournament for boys and girls in grades 3-6. There are different divisions based on school size.
