Sheriff’s Office Investigating Robbery in South Point

South Point- The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a robbery that occurred this morning at First American Loans, located at 216 Pvt. Dr. 288 South Point Ohio according to a release from the Sheriffs Department.

At approximately 9:00 AM, as the store was opening, a light skinned male entered the business dressed in a dark colored heavy winter coat with a hood. He was wearing gloves and had a winter scarf wrapped around his face. The suspect was between 5’10” and 6’ tall and had a skinny build. The suspect informed the store clerk that he was robbing the store and demanded money. He presented the clerk with a green plastic grocery bag with the words “Thank You, Thank You, Thank You” inscribed on it. The store clerk did not see a weapon.

After obtaining an undetermined amount of cash the suspect fled the store on foot in an unknown direction of travel. Detective Jason Newman is heading up this investigation and is working to obtain the stores video surveillance and that of surrounding stores.
