Jami Porter

Jami Shawn Porter, 43, of Coal Grove, passed away, Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, in Huntington, West Virginia. Jami was born May 29, 1973, in Ironton, a son to Henry “Dick” Porter, of Lancaster, and Patricia “Patty” J. (Bertram) Chapman, of Coal Grove.
Jami was a graduate of Green High School. He was an ironworker for North Carolina and Ohio Iron Workers Union. Jami was a loving father and had a great passion for animals. Jami was very active with the Men’s Christian Care Center in Leesburg, Florida, and a First Responder for Sumter County in Florida.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Henry and Emogene Porter and Russ and Faye Bertram.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by three daughters, Megan Marie Porter and Alley Elizabeth Porter, both of Ironton, and Destiny Sandra Porter, of Wheelersburg; two sons, Christian Jami Shawn Porter, of Wheelersburg, and Ethyn Meador, of Ashland, Kentucky; two brothers, Richard Allen (Kathie) Porter, of Clayton, North Carolina, and Darin (Tonya) Porter, of Wheelersburg; granddaughter, Adreanah Lin Lutz, of Minford; step grandmother, Rosalie Bertram, of Coal Grove; stepmother, Karen Porter; and stepfather, Herman Chapman.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Larry Lavender officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery and visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Virginia L. Milar, 62, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016, at her residence. Graveside funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at the Mullens-Osbourne Cemetery, Buck Hollow, Kentucky, with her brother, Rick Osbourne officiating.
