The Ironton Farmers Market was bustling Saturday as part of the Iron Furnace Heritage Festival that took place this weekend.

Artisans selling unique goods gathered underneath and around the tent set up in the parking lot next to the regular farmers market vendors who were also set up.

“It’s been a good day,” Sam Heighton, executive director of Ironton aLive, said. “We think our vendors are quality vendors with a lot of unusual things, and we have our regular farmers market here for people to enjoy.”

Ironton aLive organized the farmers market portion of the weekend Iron Furnace Festival activities.

Also available at the event was the Ashland Community and Technical College Mobile Technology Lab for guests to go through.

Entertainment throughout the day included the dance team of Cyndi’s Dance Studio, Wiley Dew, Travis Williams, and the Scioto Ridge Boys gospel group from Columbus, led by Ironton native Bob Houston as the lead singer.

Taking place behind Farmers Market Square on Bobby Bare Boulevard was the second annual Home-Built Hot Rod and Chopper Show as well.

Upcoming Ironton aLive involved activities include Small Business Saturday in downtown Ironton the Saturday after Thanksgiving, complete with contests with the retailers as well as coupons and various Christmas events to be announced at a later date.
