Ironton City Council is set to hear two resolutions at tonight’s meeting.
Resolution 16-37, to authorize the mayor to prepare and submit an application to participate in the Ohio Public Works Commission State Capitol Improvement and/or Local Transportation Improvement programs for the south Ironton storm/sanitary sewers separation project phase IV (4) will be given.
Both programs provide financial assistance to political subdivisions for capital improvements to infrastructure. The fourth phase of the storm/sanitary sewer separation project in south Ironton qualified under the Ohio Public Works Commission programs because it is considered to be a priority need for the community.
Also on the docket is Resolution 16-38, fixing the number and compensations of certain employees of the city of Ironton and declaring an emergency. The salaries stated shall remain in effect for the year 2016.
Bill Toole, chief building official of the Lawrence County Building Department, is also expected to be at tonight’s meeting to talk about the current status of Jack Hager’s Whitwell School apartment project.
Ironton City Council begins at 6 p.m. in the council chambers on the third floor of the Ironton City Center.
