PEDRO — It was like running into a rubber wall. It was time to bounce back.

Following a pair of road losses at Gallipolis and Chesapeake, the Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers bounced back with an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball win over the Rock Hill Redwomen on Thursday, 17-25, 25-22, 25-20 and 25-16.

“After two close losses, we were able to get back on track. Our league is very balanced. There are no easy games,” said Ironton coach Beth Campbell.

Kenzie Cremeens and Zakia Lee held a block party as they combined for 25 blocks at the net. Cremeens had 13 including six in the final set while Lee had 12.

Lee also played well behind the service line with 13 points. Lexie Wise had 11 points, D’Laynie Keith and Cremeens seven points each. Alyssa Lewis five and Ali White added four.

After the first set, Keith and Wise exploded at the net as they combined for 28 kills. Wise racked up 16 kills — four in each set — while Keith piled up 12.

Cremeens helped out with eight kills while Lewis handed out 37 assists.
