MINFORD — Two’s a couple and three’s a nuisance.
The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers and Minford Lady Falcons met in a tennis match on Monday and the score was tied when a third party entered unwanted: darkness.
Ironton’s No. 2 doubles team of Savannah Friend and Sydney Webb were up 1-0 with the second set tied at 3-3 when darkness forced play to be suspended until Sept. 20 when Minford visits Ironton.
Ironton’s No. 1 singles player Aleigha Justice and No. 3 singles player Holly Bruce both got wins. Minford won the No. 2 singles match and the No. 1 doubles play.
The Lady Tigers hosts Portsmouth Notre Dame at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
