In less than a week, we, as a nation, will reflect on what many would consider the worst tragedy in the history of the United States of America. This is the 15th anniversary of the heartbreaking events on Sept. 11, 2001.

The senseless acts of violence committed in New York, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C., were both an eye-opening and enraging experience for all Americans.

However, while 9/11 will always be remembered as the worst terrorist attack on American soil, we must also never forget those who were lost. The ranges in emotion from disbelief to rage in the immediate aftermath, but in the days, weeks, months and years after, we as a nation banded together to ensure those lives would never be gone from our memories.

In most cases, if you ask anyone where they were that day, a vivid recollection will quickly come back.

Unfortunately, those events will be forever etched into our memories much like Pearl Harbor and Oklahoma City along with the ever increasing scenes we happen to see much too often.

As a nation, we have become divided by so many differences. Whether it be our political or moral beliefs, we must come together and regain that sense of patriotism we felt after 9/11 and work together for a prosperous future.
