BUFFALO, W.Va. — OK, we get it. The Buffalo Bisons are good.

The Bisons used the running of Dylan Lucas and passing of Ethan Burgess to beat the Symmes Valley Vikings 55-6 on Friday in a non-league game.

“They are really quick and they have a running back who is as good as anyone we’ll see,” said Vikings’ coach Rusty Webb. “Buffalo is senior heavy and experienced.

“Our kids gave good effort. When the injuries hits we had to move kids around that don’t normally play those spots. The biggest thing we have to do is get healthy.”

Burgess was 5-of-6 passing for 45 yards and three touchdowns while Lucas carried 13 times for 176 yards and five touchdowns including a punt return for a score.

Buffalo (2-0) took a 21-0 lead in the first quarter as Burgess threw touchdown passes of 5 and 22 yards to Connor Fields and 8 to Owen Tillis.

Lucas ran for four touchdowns in the second quarter with runs of 23, 16, 52 and 2.

Drake Fertig kicked 7 of 8 conversion kicks.

The Bisons made it 55-0 at the start of the third quarter on an 81-yard punt return by Lucas.

The Vikings (1-1) had 112 yards of offense — all on the ground — with Derik Brace gaining 38 yards on five attempts and Levi Cade 32 yards on seven tries.

Lucas carried 13 times for 178 yards andhad more than 200 yards in punt returns.

The Vikings visit Chesapeake on Friday.
