Margaret Proctor

Jan. 15, 1920 — Aug. 18, 2016

Margaret “Peg” Hester Proctor, 96, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2016, at Heartland of Riverview in South Point. Born on Jan. 15, 1920, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Tuson and Margaret E. Yahner Tuson.

In addition to her parents and one brother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Proctor; and daughter, Margaret R. Brickey. She is survived by her children, Robert J. (Margaret) Proctor, Jr., of California, Nancy Bobo, of Mississippi, Thomas F. (Genessa) Proctor, of Florida, and Bettyanne (Andrew) Green, of California; her grandchildren, Lisa Brickey, of Ona, West Virginia, David (Tonya) Brickey, of Texas, Todd Bobo Jr., of Mississippi, Lori (Charlie) Whitfield, of Mississippi, Brian (Sunni Thompson) Bobo, of Florida, Scott Green, of California and Adam Green, of California; her great-grandchildren, Mason, Dawson, Taylor, Lyndon, Hannah, Madison, Jaxon, Aiden and Lincoln Hawks; and special family friends Roberta Hawkins.

Peg’s full and loving life included Girl Scout leadership and training; church religious education, choir and youth director; circulation supervisor of Leominster Library (MA) and reference librarian at Cabell County Library, Huntington; pastoral care volunteer, supervisor of the mail room and co-founder of the grief and bereavement group at St. Mary’s Hospital, Huntington and an elder of the Highlawn Presbyterian Church. Very special thanks to the people at Heartland of Riverview for their care and love.

The family will welcome friends from 5-7 p.m. today at Beard Mortuary, Huntington. A Celebration of the Resurrection Service will be at 11 a.m Tuesday at Highlawn Presbyterian Church in Huntington, with pastor Rick Wilson officiating. Graveside services will be held privately by the family at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice, Habitat or Highlawn Presbyterian Church.
