2 ordinances to get second readings at city council

Two ordinances await second readings on tonight’s Ironton City Council agenda.
Ordinance 16-34, authorizing the mayor to purchase new dumpsters for the city of Ironton and Ordinance 16-35, authorizing the mayor to execute a contract with Champion Energy Services for electric service and declaring an emergency will be given second readings.
Regarding Ordinance 16-34, six dumpsters will be purchased not exceeding $5,000. For Ordinance 16-35, Champion Energy Services agreed to provide energy to the city of Ironton for lower rates of 4.633 cents/kWh rather than 5.7 cents/kWh.
Ironton City Council meets at 6 p.m. in the council chambers on the third floor of the Ironton City Building. A finance committee meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. prior to the regular meeting to discuss the two ordinances. There is also a Public Utilities Committee scheduled for 6:30 p.m., or immediately following the regular council meeting, to discuss CSO (combined sewer overflow) consent.
