MILFORD, Mass. — A 20-year-old man from Ohio is dead following a single-vehicle accident around 3:30 a.m. Thursday morning in Milford, Massachusetts.

Massachusetts State Police reported that the driver was traveling on Route 495 southbound in a 2005 Pontiac G6 when, and, for reasons still under investigation, his vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and crashed into the wood line.

The driver, whose name and hometown have not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger, a 22-year-old man from Ohio, was transported by Lifeflight to UMass Medical Center in Worcester for treatment of serious injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and Crime Scene Services Section, as well as the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. State police were assisted on scene by Milford Fire and EMS and MassDOT.
