Dog contest made success by supporters

Ironton In Bloom would like to thank all the participants and the onlookers of its first ever “Dress your Dog” contest. We were extremely excited with the effort put forth by those who entered.

Our entrants included Belle, dressed for the Fourth of July, who won People’s Choice; Jingle, who dressed for a day at the beach and won most original; and Ebony, dressed as a construction worker, took home the Look Alike prize.

And while we only had three prizes, we can’t forget Bunny, who came dressed for the farmers market, and Five, the dachshund who sprouted into a Chia pet. It is our hope to make this an annual fun event for the community.

We also want to say a big thank you to the Barker Shop for its donation of the prizes for the event. Ironton In Bloom would not be able to put on these events without the donations of our willing partners.

We hope that you got the chance to enjoy a free hot dog while you browsed through the many items available at the farmers market, which seems to grow larger each week.

We look forward to seeing you the second Saturday in August at our Corn Fest. Come out and enjoy a free ear of corn.

Ironton In Bloom appreciates all donations in its efforts to help make Ironton a better place to live and work for the whole community.

Again, thank you so much for your support of Ironton In Bloom.
