Betty Lou Imes, 71, of Ironton, died Monday, Oct. 18, 2010, at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Ky. The Ironton native was born April 22, 1939, the daughter of the late William and Eva Marie McGlone Adkins. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Homer Imes, who died October 2008.
Mrs. Imes attended Ironton Schools, was a homemaker and attended the City Mission Church in Ironton.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Penny Lynn Imes; two brothers, Charles Adkins and Raymond Adkins; and four sisters, Catherine Skaggs, Dorothy Adkins, Lucile Bailey and Margaret Hay.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Dreama and Homer Friend of Ironton, and Betty and Ray Nance, and Lisa and Johnie Nance, all of Willow Wood; three sons and daughters-in-law, Fred Jr. and Betty Imes, Rickey and Christine Imes and Paul and Mary Mann, all of Ironton; 14 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three sisters, Wanda Adkins of Ironton, Annabelle Hensley of Ashland and Ruth Adkins of Coal Grove; and a brothers, Gary Adkins of Ironton.
