Armed robbery reported at South Point bank

SOUTH POINT — South Point Police said they were on the scene of an armed robbery at a bank Thursday morning.
According to police chief Chris Mahjer, the robbery took place at WesBanco on Solida Road at about 9:20 a.m.
The suspect is described as a white male, between 5-feet-8-inches tall and 5-feet-11-inches tall, wearing jeans, a navy blue hooded jacket and glasses. Mahjer said the suspect passed a letter to a teller indicating he may have a weapon and left with an undisclosed amount of money, fleeing on foot in the direction of Billy Joy Drive.
