Drug cases, probations fill common pleas docket

Two people who were indicted on drug charges in May received sentences in Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge D. Scott Bowling’s courtroom Wednesday morning.
The indictments followed controlled purchases of heroin, cocaine and crystal methamphetamine.
Amber Combs, 32, of 409 Buckhorn St. Ironton, pleaded guilty to trafficking in heroin. Bowling sentenced her to six months in prison.
Marcus Sloan, 18, of 1505 Lawrence St. Apt. D-2, Ironton, pleaded guilty to two fifth-degree counts and one fourth-degree count of trafficking in cocaine. Bowling ordered him to complete treatment in lieu of conviction.
Courtney Gallion, 37, of 411 N. Sixth St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree trafficking in drugs. She is being held on a $10,000 OR bond. Bowling set her sentencing for June 29.
In other cases:
Marcus Birchfield, 38, of 514 N. Sixth St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of drugs and one count of drug abuse instruments. Bowling sentenced him to 88 days in jail to run concurrently.
Joseph Cunningham, 37, of 809 Sixth St., Huntington, West Virginia, pleaded guilty to one fifth-degree count of possession of heroin and one second-degree count of drug abuse instruments. Bowling ordered him to complete treatment and STAR in lieu of conviction.
Alton Day, 25, of Chesapeake, admitted to community-controlled sanctions violations. Bowling ordered him to complete STAR.
Katie Roush, 31, of 908 Marion Pike, Coal Grove, admitted to community-controlled sanctions violations and entered an omission. Bowling sentenced her to six months in prison.
Albert Rucker, 24, of 120 Apt. A Freeman Court, South Point, admitted to community-controlled sanctions violations. Bowling ordered him to return to CCS with 12 months reserved for prison.
Elizabeth Walker, 20, of 3647 Taymor Road, Huntington, West Viginia, formerly of South Point, admitted to community controlled sanctions violations. Bowling sentenced her to 24 months in prison.
Nicholas White, 22, of 355 County Road 3, Trailer B, Chesapeake, pleaded guilty to fifth-degree breaking and entering. He is being held on a $10,000 OR bond. Bowling set sentencing for July 13.
Linda McFann, 51, of 419 Vernon St, Apt. 202, Ironton, denied community-controlled sanctions violations. Bowling set trial for June 29.
Ralph Viars, 30, of 3531 County Road 64, Willow Wood, previously pleaded guilty to one fifth-degree count of possession of drugs. Bowling ordered him to complete treatment and STAR in lieu of conviction.
Stephanie Risner, 24, of 76 Private Drive 3, Apt. 6, Chesapeake, admitted to community-controlled sanctions violations. Bowling sentenced her to 20 months in prison.
Ashley Neville, 27, of 9035 State Route 554, Bidwell, previously pleaded guilty to one third-degree count of tampering with evidence and possession of drugs and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors. Bowling sentenced her to four years CCS with intensive supervised probation with 24 months reserved for prison and ordered her to complete STAR.
Andrew McClain, 28, of 1012 S. Fifth St., Ironton, pleaded guilty to counts of possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Bowling sentenced him to four years CCS with intensive supervised probation with 11 months reserved, ordered him to complete STAR and a six-month driver’s license suspension.
Jeanette Crissinger, 28, of 114 Jefferson St., Coal Grove, previously pleaded guilty to one fifth-degree count of possession of drugs and one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bowling re-sentenced her to four years community-controlled sanctions with intensive supervised probation and to include Mended Reeds.
Cases involving Loretta Akers, Tracy Ellis, Clifford Black, Keith Lanning, Rachel Nance, Marci Peters, Crystal Settles and Jeffery Wallace have all been continued.
